5 DAYS MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK SAFARI
Murchison Falls National Park sits on the shore of Lake Albert, in northwest Uganda. It’s known for Murchison Falls, where the Victoria Nile River surges through a narrow gap over a massive drop. Park wildlife includes elephants and hippos, and there are chimpanzees in the Kaniyo Pabidi mahogany forest. The Lake Albert Delta is home to rare shoebill storks.

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Upon the arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by representatives from Prime Tours Uganda. Transfer to Kampala city. Then embark on journey en route Murchison Falls National Park via Bombo road. Make a stopover in Nakasongola at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino trekking. Have lunch in Nakasongola town at WamRelax restaurant/Tesus restaurant.
Continue with the journey via Masindi, then proceed to Murchison falls National Park and check in at the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Bird watching and Boat cruise
After your morning breakfast, bird watching. The commonest species found in the plains include the Marabou Stork, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Secretary Birds, Black-bellied Bustards, Open-billed Storks and Widow Bird. Closer to the river where there are more thickets and woodlands, the commonest bird varieties include the Swallow-tailed and Red-throated Bee-eaters, Pied, Giant and Malachite Kingfishers, Hornbills, Grey heron, Shrikes, Flycatchers, Cuckoos among others. The riverbanks are also home to ducks, geese, stilts and plovers. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax a bit.
In the afternoon, go for a morning boat cruise to the Albertine Delta. This is where River Nile passes at a tip of Lake Albert forming the Albert Nile. Watch the beautiful sunrise as well as enjoying scenery of the aquatic life, expect to see the Nile crocodiles busking at the river banks, school of hippos swimming in the water, aquatic birds to name but a few. You will be swept off your feet by the spectacular view of the Nile waters gushing through a narrow gorge only about 7 meters wide falling to a depth of about 40 meters.
The boat will dock at a point a few meters away from the Devil’s Cauldron where you will begin your hike to the top of the falls. The hike is a rewarding experience as you will have various views of the waterfalls and you could spot the rainbow casted by the waterfalls. Dinner and overnight stay Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Game drive
Take your breakfast, go for an early morning game drive through the winding tracks of the large park as you watch the beautiful sunset. Expect to see elephants, Jackson’s heart beast, kobs, baboons, monkeys to name but a few. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax a bit. You will then go back for an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight stay Paraa safari lodge.
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking
Have your morning breakfast, along with your packed lunch, the guide will lead you into Budongo forest for chimpanzee tracking, enjoy the whole day with the Chimpanzees as you enjoy the picture moments for your memories. Dinner and overnight stay Paraa safari lodge.
Day 5: Departure
After your morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and then embark on the journey back to Kampala. You will be dropped at the location of your choice in the city.
