KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
Kidepo valley National park is nestled in the wild frontier region of Uganda bordering Sudan and Kenya, Kidepo National Park was gazette in 1962 with an area of 1442kms. Its ranked among Africa’s finest wilderness. Kidepo is situated 700kms away from the capital city Kampala; this makes it the furthest National park. Despite all this Kidepo National Park harbors great number of wildlife say 77 mammal species, 475 bird species and so many others, the park Rivers Kidepo and Narus usually dry up if its dry season just leaving pools for the wildlife. Kidepo National park is also another spot for cultural trials like the Karamajong, Acholis and other north eastern tribes. Lastly Kidepo remains a true rendition of tourism in Uganda but also remains unknown to many due to this magnificent park being in the far areas of Karamoja.

The game drive is either done in the morning or afternoon, it’s advisable to be under the guidance of a game ranger during the game drive to help you spot different animals either lions resting on the rocks or under the trees, other animals that are easily spotted of the game drive are elephants, Leopard, bush ducker, jackal, ostrich, the list goes on and on.
Discover the unique culture of this remote tribe of the cattle –herding Karamajongs who live a simple but unique way of life. The half-naked Karamajongs will show you their way of life from milking of cows, grazing, food preparation and also tour the village of muddy huts roofed with grass.
Hiking and Nature Walks
Hike to the Lomej mountains having unforgettable experience through the Narus valley, it runs for 4 hours and it begins in the morning at 7am, this offers a great opportunity to meet members of the endangered IK tribe and wander in the beautiful Kidepo River valley in the magnificent palm forest.
Bird watching is also a popular activity done at Kidepo National Park, it has various spots for birders with Apoka Rest Camp as the famous spot for bird watching experience and the other spots include Narus and Namamukweny valleys. Some of the birds found in Kidepo are superb sterling, ostrich, Roller, Purple Heron, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill and so many others.
