Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After your morning breakfast, start the journey south western Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a brief stopover at the Equator for photography and a lunch stopover in Mbarara town at Agip motel/Cafe Havana/Shaheen restaurant. The journey to Bwindi will reward you with sights of the Ankole long horned cattle and fascinating scenery of rolling hills of Kigezi region. Arrive in the park in the evening and check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay Gorilla Mist Camp/Silver back lodge/Volcanoes Safari Lodge Bwindi.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
After an early morning breakfast, go to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for briefing from the senior park ranger guide at the park headquarters. At 8.30 set off for the gorilla tracking in the impenetrable forest. A search for the habituated gorilla family is not predictable; you may take between 2 hours to a full day searching for these apes with in this dense forest. You are guaranteed one hour for observing and taking photographs of these beautiful apes once you catch up with them. Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After your breakfast, go for a cultural encounters as you visit the friendly Batwa and observe how they cook and serve meals, enjoy the energetic cultural dance performances as well as traditional songs. You also get to meet the traditional healer who uses plants and leaves as medicine and miraculously heal his people. You see the how people around Bwindi Impenetrable national park involve in making beautiful African crafts for example the handmade artifacts like bee-wax candles, fabrics and wood carvings. Return to the lodge for lunch and check out.
In the afternoon, drive to Queen Elizabeth national park, arrive in the evening and check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay Mweya safari lodge/Forest Hog Safari lodge/Tembo Safari lodge.
Day 4: Game drive and Boat cruise
After your morning breakfast, drive to Ishasha sector of the park. This is the most remote area in the park yet quite rewarding when visited. It’s famous for tree climbing lions. Other mammals also inhabit the savannah grasslands and they include buffalos, elephants to name but a few. The swamp in this section is endowed with numerous bird species that include the rare shoebill stock, collared pratincole, palm-nut vuture, Pel’s fishing owl among others. Have your lunch at the lodge and relax a bit.
In the early evening, go for a boat cruise at Kazinga channel. This connects Lake Edward and Lake George. It is a habitat for an extremely large population of hippos. Enjoy your launch cruise as you spot other games come to water by the banks. Dinner and overnight stay Mweya safari lodge/Forest Hog Safari lodge/Tembo Safari lodge.
Day 5: Depart to Kampala
After your breakfast, start your journey back to Kampala with a lunch stopover in Masaka town at Tropic Inn/Vitamin Bar/Cafe Frikadellen, and later another brief stopover at the equator in case you need to buy a craft to take home. Proceed to Kampala, you will be dropped at the location of your choice or Entebbe Airport for your departure flight.
